Acura bring back the ZDX into an electric future, unlike the original ZDX we all know in Nigeria, which you can easily mistake with the Honda Crosstour, but now with the new look for the 2024 model SUV wears a more traditional two-box SUV shape.
The new ZDX's styling is interesting, though, with a floating roof, smooth body sides, and a faux grille with a light-up border. The ZDX is the product of a partnership between Acura's parent company, Honda and General Motors; the ZDX will utilise GM's Ultium battery.
The Acura ZDX debuted for the 2010 model year with a gas engine and fastback styling that was arguably ahead of its time. ZDX A-Spec boasts an estimated driving range of 313 miles; add the second motor, and that drops to 304. A 499-hp, all-wheel-drive variant wearing the vaunted Type S badge is also available and features a more aggressive suspension tune with adaptive dampers and larger Brembo brakes.
Recall that we mentioned Acura has resurrected the ZDX into an all-electric future from its past. Now, it comes as an all-electric vehicle (EV). Acura is introducing its first EV with the 2024 ZDX, which is built on General Motors' Ultium platform. The ZDX Type S variant offers a powerful 499 horsepower.
The ZDX will use GM's Ultium battery technology and will be fitted with the same 102.0-kWh battery pack as the Lyriq. That battery is said to provide up to 313 miles of driving range in the A-Spec trim, but the Type S's range is lower at just 278 miles per charge.
Since it's an electric car and duties on EVS are not as high as those on fuel or hybrid cars in Nigeria, the 2024 Acura ZDX will be priced lower compared to other 2024 models in Nigeria. We expect the 2024 Acura ZDX to start at 120 million and go up to 148 million naira, depending on the trim and options.
