Since the Fourth Generation of Lexus LX and the introduction of the LX 600, it has become a favourable SUV for Nigerians, especially those looking for comfort and luxury.

The Lexus LX 600 is capable of tackling off-road trails during the day and pulling up to red-carpet events at night. It shares its platform and mechanical bits with the Toyota Land Cruiser, so its all-terrain cred is real, but it’s dressed in a sharply pressed tuxedo instead of the jeans and T-shirt ensemble of its platform-mate.

The Lexus LX 600 SUV is more of a statement than just a large SUV. Representing the popular luxury automaker’s lineup as the flagship SUV, the Lexus LX 600 brings a new world of driving possibilities. It’s one of those rare SUVs that delivers a classy interior experience and intense off-road capability.

With a V-8 engine rumbling under the hood, LX shoppers shouldn’t expect quick acceleration or nimble handling. The Lexus’s relaxed ride is on par with other luxury off-roaders such as the Land Rover Range Rover and the Infiniti QX80.

Many Nigerian SUV shoppers have at least one Lexus LX 600 in their garage, and top politicians and state governors, including the president use the latest model of LX 600 as their official cars.

Lexus LX Engine, Transmission, and Performance In Nigeria

Since Toyota is the brand behind the Lexus vehicles, we expect Toyota’s usual Engine options, which include a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine across all markets. While some markets also get the V6 diesel engine as an option while transmission duties are handled by a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Lexus LX 600 is available in multiple variants and for the first time includes an F-Sport variant which until now was reserved only for the sports cars made by the Lexus. It features a dual-screen infotainment system, a 25-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, 22-inch alloy wheels, etc. A twin-turbo V6 power plant is installed in the latest LX with a ten-speed automatic gearbox. It stands at 409 hp with a torque of 649 Nm at 3600 RPM. A longer wheel travel has been introduced for both axles which marks the competence of the recent SUV in off-roading.
