Lamborghini has officially introduced the Temerario, the successor to the Huracán, during Monterey Car Week

The Temerario is replacing the Lamborghini Huracán, which made its debut in 2014 and has been the top-selling super sports car in the history of the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based carmaker. According to Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, “Every new Lamborghini must outperform its predecessors in terms of performance.” With the Temerario, the new hybrid plug-in vehicle sets a new standard in terms of performance, sportiness, and driving pleasure. The Temerario is the first production super sports car engine capable of reaching 10,000 rpm, a feat typically only achieved in motorsports.

This new model, featuring a twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain, is one example of Lamborghini’s commitment to blending high-performance engineering with cutting-edge electrification.

The Temerario, named after the Italian word for “reckless,” delivers an impressive 676kW of power, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 340 km/h.

“With the Temerario, we have exceeded our expectations in terms of performance and design for what the mid-engine sports car can be,” said Winkelmann. “The Temerario represents the next chapter in our Direzione Cor Tauri plan by hybridizing the entire product line, while we continue to develop our fully electric model set to debut at the end of the decade.”
