What owners say about Toyota Sienna 2013 in Nigeria

The minivan every Lagos church and school run eventually buys

carlots.ng editorial · 23 Oct 2026

Three rows, sliding doors on both sides and a boot that swallows a week's market run -- the Sienna earns its place in school-run and church-fleet rotations for reasons that have nothing to do with how it drives. The 2011-2017 generation fixed the transmission weakness that dogged the earlier body style, so a Sienna from this run is a meaningfully safer buy than an older one with the same badge.

What still needs watching is the sliding door motors, which pick up grit on unpaved compounds and start hesitating or grinding well before anything else on the car shows its age -- a cheap fix caught early, an annoying one ignored. Fuel consumption is what you would expect from a V6 minivan doing stop-start Lagos traffic daily, and nobody buying a Sienna is buying it for that number anyway.
