The pickup Nigeria's construction sites and farms actually trust

The Hilux's reputation here is not marketing -- it is the truck NGOs, oil-service contractors, farms and construction outfits buy with their own fleet budgets because it keeps running after abuse that would park most pickups. The diesel engines are built to shrug off the kind of load-carrying and bad-road punishment that is the daily reality on sites outside the major cities, and a used Hilux carries the strongest resale confidence of anything in this price bracket because fleet buyers keep demand ahead of supply.
The cabin is workmanlike rather than comfortable -- this is a truck built to a brief, not a family SUV wearing a bed -- and real-world fuel consumption under load rarely matches the claimed figures, something anyone who has used one commercially will tell you without being asked. Buy it for what it is built for and it rewards that; buy it expecting Highlander comfort and it will not.
