The SUV that made "big man car" mean something specific

The RX 350's standing in Nigeria is less about luxury-badge prestige and more about a very specific promise: Toyota-grade mechanical durability with a cabin, ride and badge that read as "arrived" at a wedding, a church car park or a corporate lot. It shares a platform and a philosophy with cars that already have a reputation for shrugging off bad roads and worse maintenance habits, and it mostly lives up to that.
Running costs are the honest caveat: parts and specialist labour cost more than a plain Toyota's, fuel consumption is what you would expect from a V6 SUV, and the earlier generations' electronics are not as bulletproof as the drivetrain under them. Buyers who go in expecting a Camry's running costs are the ones who end up disappointed -- buyers who go in expecting a Camry's reliability with a Lexus bill are not.
