The budget-friendly SUV that handles Nigerian roads better than the badge suggests

The Sportage gives a buyer the high driving position and practical storage Nigerians want from an SUV without the fuel bill of something bigger, and the 2010-2016 generation specifically improved build quality enough that it stopped being the compromise choice it once was. The suspension in particular copes with potholes and speed bumps noticeably better than its price bracket would suggest.
What it does not have is Toyota or Honda's badge confidence or parts-network density, which shows up at resale and at the mechanic's -- parts are available, just not on every corner the way Corolla parts are, and the asking price reflects that gap honestly. For a first-time SUV buyer on a tighter budget who has done their homework on service history, it is one of the better value propositions in this list; for a buyer who wants the reassurance of a badge everyone already trusts, it is not.
